Track Pageviews for Your Akamai Logs

Step 1: Create a DataStream

• Sign in to Akamai Control Center
• Under Analytics & monitor, click DataStream
• Click Create stream and select Delivery products
• For Display Name, choose something like Known Agents Analytics
• Under Include groups, select your account group
• Under Include properties, select your website's property and click Next

Step 2: Configure Your Data Set

In the Data Sets tab, select the following fields:

• Log information
  • Request time
• Message exchange data
  • Request host
  • Client IP
  • Request method
  • HTTP status code
  • Request path
  • Query string
  • User-Agent
  • Response Content-Type
• Request header data
  • Referer
• Network performance data
  • Turnaround time
• For Log format, select JSON and click Next

Step 3: Configure the Destination

• From the Destination dropdown, select Custom HTTPS
• For Name, choose something like Known Agents Analytics
• For Authentication, select Basic
• Enter this Endpoint URL:

https://api.knownagents.com/logs/akamai

• For Username, enter your company name
• Navigate to the Known Agents Projects page and open your project
• Copy your access token from the Settings page
• For Password, paste your access token
• Check Send compressed data
• Expand the Additional options section
• Under Custom header, set Content type to text/plain
• Click Validate & Save
• For Push frequency, select 30 seconds and click Next
• On the Summary tab, select Activate stream upon saving and click Save stream

Step 4: Configure Your Property

• In the Content delivery menu, click Properties under CDN
• Open your property's active production version and click Edit New Version
• If your property already has DataStream behaviors, enable logging in each applicable behavior, add your new stream to DataStream names without removing existing selections, and set the Sampling rate to 100

Step 5: Configure Log Request Details

• In the Default Rule, add or edit the Log Request Details behavior
• Enable:
  • Log Host Header
  • Log Referer Header
  • Log User-Agent Header
• Save the configuration, then use the Activate tab to activate the new version on Production

Step 6: Test Your Integration

• Wait until the stream and property version are active. Initial stream activation can take about an hour
• Navigate to the Projects page
• Select your project
• Click Settings
• Click Send a Test Visit
• Click Realtime

If your website is correctly connected, you should see visits from a test agent in the realtime timeline within a few minutes.
